a favourite with larger manufacturers, it generally allows
for the minimum costs in manufacture and comes in a variety
of tension options.
 Pocketed
spring system
The finest high tensile steel is wound into individual
springs, which are sewn into their own hard wearing 100%
cotton calico pocket. Each pocketed spring is hand nested
in a honeycomb pattern and hand tied with linen cord.
Manufacturers commitment to continued research and development
ensures that pocketed spring mattresses provide superb
resilience, comforting support and a luxurious night's
sleep.
Hand Side Stitching
The bench mark for a quality pocketed spring mattress.
Long upholstery needles hand stitch the mattress border
with as many as four rows of side stitching. This time
consuming process ensures the necessary rigidty and support
for the mattress wall and extends the quality of the sleeping
area to the outermost edge of the mattress.
Fillings
Each combination of materials used in the upholstery on
top of the springs offers a different comfort. The varying
upholster materials used in the models offered are explained
below.

Lambswool New Lambswool for sumptuous
softness. It provides a micro climate of warmth
in winter and coolness in summer.
Hair Naturally resilient, hair
acts like millions of tiny springs, giving support
throughout the lifetime of a mattress.
Cotton Felt Soft natural cotton,
used in deep layers for comfort.
Latex High quality hypo allergenic
Latex, a natural material with an in built recovery
memory used in many of the No Turn mattresses
to keep the surface of the mattress plump and
comfortable.
Reflex Foam In selected models,
high recovery fire retardant foam is used.
White Fibre Soft, resilient
and moisture resistant white fibre provies deep
comfort.
Memory Foam The Visco-elastic
memory foam was originally developed for the NASA
space program in the 1970's, to provide protection
and offer comfort cushioning for astronauts travelling
in space.

Storage
Divans These include 1, 2, 3, or 4 drawers.
Alternatively you may like an end drawer or a continental
drawer - the combinations are as follows.Most divan beds
today are available with storage options, storage within
beds can be very important, especially when there is a
limited space in the bedroom, most ranges provide 6 different
methods of storage in their double and king size beds.
Divan Bases
 Spring-Edge
The most sumptuous version, the spring-edge divan
base is extremely luxurious. The springs come right
to the edge, giving real edge-to-edge suppport.
The divian-base springs are specially made from
a heavier gauge than the mattress, to give the correct
balanced support. This is also offered as a shallow
divan-base on legs. |
 Firm-Edge
A box-like divan-base, with the springs nexted inside
a solid pine frame which creates the firm edges.
Again, the springs are specially made from a heavier
gauge for the perfect mattress support. |
 Padded
Top
This divan base has no springs at all. The top is
padded and is solid, with a ventilated surface below
a layer of uphoistery. The Padded Top divan base
compliments the Orthos Collection - for everyone
who has a firm view about firmness. |
 Shallow
Firm-Edge
This alternative divan base, is like the Firm-Edge
divan-base described above, but is shallow and therefore,
has the addition of legs. The Hypnos legs are of
a patented design which prevents any 'breaking'
of the legs away from the bed. All double shallow
divans have eight legs for extra strength. |
Zip &
Link
A zip and link bed provides the ideal solution when two
people sharing have different preferences of comfort.
They allow the combination of two single divans and mattresses
to form a wide double bed. The mattresses can be combined
to have different levels of comfort and the divans bases
are linked at head and foot. Zipped and linked beds may
be specified and in use can be unzipped to form two single
beds which made them a perfect option for either a main
or spare room.
